I've never seen coffee

the hot Espresso smooth and awakening

i never had the chance to know the cream

not half and half nor skimmed

thick heavy fattening cream

making coffee so light its lost in goodness

yeah

i never got a chance to

never got a chance to burn my tongue

even though it clearly stated "caution contents may be hot"

oh to experience the thought
of Coffee

iced or covered in a fancy phrase

elegant latte, mocha chinos, double shots

i beg the thought

of coffee

they have all become addicted

first thing in the morning lifted

long nights at work predicted

coffee the ticket

yet i never truly tasted

I gave up on trying

I know
how can one give up on something so bitter and yet sweet
tempting the thought
but everyone seems to know you
everyone seems so addicted
just like coffee is supposed to be
yea i guess
popular you are
but i need coffee in turn to be addicted to me
