Nicki Minaj (Summer Jam)

So i went to Summer Jam in Mansfield,MA  on Saturday sponsored by Boston's very own JAMN 94.5. The featured artist were  Sam Adams, Clinton Sparks, Kevin Rudolph, Nicki Minaj, B.O.B, Drake, Trey Songz, Ludacris and Taio Cruz. All were very entertaining and i was not disappointed in any performance that night which was very pleasing. The two main acts that i was very interested and excited to see was the feisty bold sexy creative controversial Nicki Minaj, and every one's hometown dream kid Drake. Drake is a humble dude with a lot of personality and great stage presence (that hand really does oscillate at like 20mph though..haha)

But the woman of the hour Ms.Nicki Minaj, Nicki the Ninja, Nicki the Hirijuku Barbie, Nicki Lewinsky lol so many AKA i probably missed 3 .now she put some pre conceived notions and assumptions to which i have very little to rest. i have always been a fan of Nicki no, not an extreme barbie fanatic, i don't love her to the point that i don't have a critical opinion on some things that she does. i am a fan of music period, although her facial expressions and voice can annoy me along some of the loads of make-up and colorful hair i respect that home girl is doing her, and she can spit,  I say if you are looking for the new Lauryn Hill go find her, just because Nicki is the only female holding it at the top right now doesn't mean she has to be Lauryn and speak for all woman, that's like stating every male rapper needs to be Nas or Kweli , we wouldn't go that route..right..why must we have one type of female rapper?

But on to the performance, she is not over the top .. she really does reach out to her fans, her stage presence is whats up, she had both the men and woman drooling and she was fully dressed in Mansfield, as her for people comparing her to Lil'Kim.. yeah Nicki says some naughty things, but i feel that Nicki is on some real different ish.. like comparing Lady Gaga and Madonna.. yeah i see what you mean but Gaga is in some other category riiight lol!!!

I saw a few clips of the show and it looks like it was straight up Madness! Drake doesnt get as much luv as he deserves here in Toronto. Not sure why, but we have a terrible track record when it comes to supporting our own. Im sure the same goes for Nicki in NY...anyway' luv the post...check in with ya later.
